Job Overview

The company Head of Finance will work directly with the leadership and oversee the financial health and daily operations of the company. This includes developing financial strategies, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements. This person is expected to have strong financial acumen with a proven track record in financial management, planning, and strategy development.

Principle Responsibilities
  • Operational Finance: Manage all financial activities of the factory, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-range business planning.
  • Cost Control & Analysis: Monitor and optimize fixed and variable costs, perform cost variance analysis, and drive initiatives to improve EBIT(Earnings Before Interest and Taxes) performance.
  • Business Partnering: Serve as a strategic partner to the Plant Manager and department heads, providing financial insights for operational decision-making.
  • Inventory & Asset Management: Oversee month-end stock takes, manage fixed assets, and track capital expenditure (CAPEX) versus budget.
  • Compliance & Reporting: Ensure the integrity of financial records, manage statutory audits, and ensure tax compliance.
  • KPI Management: Drive and monitor factory-specific Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) like plant utilization, production costs per unit, and availability
Qualifications and Skills required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from a reputable university.
  • Strong ability to translate financial data into clear insights
  • Proven leadership and influencing skills across different levels of the organization.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and people management skills
  • High proficiency in different accounting softwares and strong numerical skills
  • Detail-oriented, structured, and able to perform under pressure
  • Proactive and hands-on working style
  • Fluent in both Swahili and English
  • 10 years of experience in factory finance, cost accounting, or operations finance within FMCG or manufacturing.
